Founded in 2006 by Isamu Matsumoto, a native of Ishinomaki, Japan, Matsumoto’s was created to share authentic Japanese food and culture with the Lexington community. With decades of restaurant experience, Matsumoto brought his knowledge, traditions, and love of Japanese cuisine to the heart of Lexington, Virginia.

Today, Matsumoto’s continues that tradition—serving fresh sushi and Japanese favorites in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Our restaurant is available for private events: weddings, business lunches, dinners, cocktail receptions, and more. We also offer catering options. We would love to discuss how to be a part of your next event!
